Dec 22 Daily Entry -- Expectations

What if I had a theory that rich people and poor people could have "unique" names but middle-class people can't. We could come up with reasons why that might be.

But also, suppose I said that the study of names that I used to back up my claim was flawed. They didn't account for the fact that unique names may just be socially mobile names--moving upward and downward. Maybe we forgot to avcount for the fact that it's really difficult to define "middle class."

Both scenarios are plausible. This is why everything we know is wrong. Or it could be wrong. Which means we can only trust it while believing it could be wrong.

Take the field of diet and nutrition. The "facts" have changed so many times in the past 20 years.

Which means that the things we do for "health"... those things the influencers swear worked for them -- do those things work mostly because we expect them to? Is it all placebo?

How much exactly is placebo? Because perhaps I need to change my expectations of my health.
