July 17 Daily Entry -- Growing the Self

I am growing myself and my love for myself as if it is a plant. It is a tender baby plant, grown from a cutting, fragile roots just beginning to take hold.


I have never nourished myself before. Anything I had was for giving to others. But I will nourish this little plant because I must. My life depends on it. And though that means little to me--I have been trained in such a way that it means nothing to me--perhaps the greater good is in growth and not destruction.


I must grow my own plant because no one else will ever take care of this plant for me. They have their own plants.
