To my mom, and my grandmother, and those who came before.

Don't discipline me. Don't make me small. Don't make me into something you think I should be. Don't train up a child.

Watch me. Sit with me. Play with me. Hug me.

I will show you how to live without fear. I will show you how to not be small. I will grow into a giant. I will be confident in the world. I will live among men and women in the wide world as equals.

I will demand the respect of an equal. I will grow wild and free. I will live in my power.
