I know you have given up on ever feeling successful. I know that you have seen yourself fail again and again and again, and now you are convinced you can't succeed. You believe you aren't good enough to succeed.
That's bullshit. There is nothing wrong with you. You are trying to feel content, and you haven't yet cracked the code. Keep trying. Keep trying to reach contentment.
But know that contentment is not going to lie in changing who you are. There is nothing wrong with you. You will never be perfect, but you're exactly who you are supposed to be. Embrace it and stop struggling against it.
You don't need to change who you are. You don't need to improve. But if you are suffering, you may need to change how you approach life.
All you need is a shift of the mind. Change how you see things, and things will begin to look better. Don't stop changing your perspective. Don't give up on new ideas and new ways of thinking. You are closer to contentment than your realize. And the worst case scenario that you fear is survive-able.
Here are ways you can try to change your perspective now. See if it works. If it doesn't, try something else.
Know your value. You are creating magic everyday, wherever you go. Don't forget it. Harness it. Focus your magic. Whatever you're doing, do it deliberately. And remember that the people enjoying your services are privileged to do so, only as long as it pleases you. You are not a hostage in any situation. Those who need you will compensate you fairly. If you don't like what they're offering, you have other options.
Have fun in your interactions. You're having a party. You're putting on show. With audience participation. Working together to create something special. Enjoy it.
After the party, after the show, seek quiet. Go into nature, if you can, or somewhere hidden and peaceful. Check in with your body. Calm your nervous system. Bring your state down to quiet. Rest and take care of yourself. Do things that feel good and calm and safe. Listen to music. Look at plants. Journal. Paint. Create.
You don't need to do it all right now. You don't need to create anything big. There is no urgency. You have the luxury of time. Just take the next step, the one that's right in front of you. Do what comes naturally to you. But watch what you do. See where things take on a particular shine. Lean into those things. Take your time. Do the things that feel good to you. The things you are good at. Invest in those things to the exclusion of others. And see if contentment follows.
Take in the magic of the world. Let these events and these other consciousnesses pass through you--floating into your awareness, but floating out just as easily. You are a permeable membrane when you are out in the world, among other consciousnesses. Relax and be one with the world outside. But have a place that is safe and still where you can hibernate when you've had enough.
Trust yourself that you can handle what comes. You'll be okay. When worst comes to worst, you let go, and let your consciousness dissolve into the Greater Consciousness. You won't have to be separate anymore. You won't crave love anymore, because you will be One with everything and everyone. You will be surrounded on all sides by Oneness. And if that is the ultimate end, if that is the worst thing that can happen to you, then there is nothing to fear.
